Great Hall Wedding Fair

Last weekend BBB went to Bristol Grammar School, for the second time this month, to attend The Great Hall Wedding Fair. Only a few weeks ago Bristol’s (wedding) finest met within these grand walls to help me get some stunning new images of the dresses stocked at Bristol Bridal Boutique.

Under Kirsten ‘The Little Wedding Helper’ Butler’s creative direction and Ruth Garner Photography capturing the gowns in all their glory it was a triumph. Clare from Vintage Button Bridal Designs brought some exquisite hair accessories and Grace Kingsley – Queen of make-up and hair created some really stunning looks for our beautiful model Rachel Harvey.

Topping off the looks was a fabulous bouquet from Emma Norton Wedding Flowers who I secretly wished turned up at my house every week for coffee and chats and a new flower arrangement for me to stare at.

The Great Hall is not only a fantastic wedding venue in itself – with the capacity to host up to 380 guests – it was the backdrop to Bristol’s latest wedding fair. It was such a great environment to hold a fair as the vast stained glass windows and abundance of light really lent itself to hosting a feast of interesting, creative and talented wedding suppliers showing their wares.

Fun at Baskets and Banter

I had the pleasure of finally meeting Kate from Heartfelt Vintage who I could have chatted to for hours. Her genuine vintage dresses were truly stunning and I loved hearing more about her business and will definitely be dropping in for more chats, tea and cake and swooning at dresses!

Clifton Rocks was also another supplier I had really wanted to see and luckily for me a friend of mine was working on their stand so I did get to check out all their amazing jewellery and meet Clare Chandler the owner. They have some really amazing jewellers as well as Clare’s own designs. Definitely worth checking out!

David at Brown in Town is a hero in my mind. Not only is he an incredibly lovely, engaging and passionate human being he is SO TALENTED. I said to at least 3 people on Sunday how I wish I was a man so I could get a custom-made suit from him. I also found out he is making a friend of mine’s wedding suit which is just brilliant. Anyone who dresses that well in clothes he made himself should be the first stop for any groom wanting a suit.

Weird and Wonderful Wedding World

Having spent a couple of days over the last month at the Great Hall I have quite an affection for it and am very excited for the Weird and Wonderful Wedding World show that is to be held there on Saturday 17th October from 1100 til 1700! This is going to be an awesome event co-ordinated by two fabulous women – Grace Kingsley Bristol based hair, make-up and nail artist extraordinaire and Jo Hodge my very own Digital Marketing Fairy!
