FAQs
**PLEASE NOTE** - I do not sell second hand wedding dresses for individuals selling their once worn wedding dresses.
** Also please be aware I have about 20 dresses not on my website - all sized between 8 and 14.
What is Bristol Bridal Boutique?
I run Bristol Bridal Boutique from my garden studio in Southville, Bristol selling sample designer wedding dresses. Over the years I have been told it is a fun and relaxed environment and that people leave very happy with their experience. Please do read my Google reviews to see more about this. I receive stock a few times a year so I may have more than is on the website. All the the dresses are sold as seen. Most dresses have 50% taken off their RRP and more if there is an imperfection or flaw or if they need a repair. Buying a sample dress is a great way of getting a fabulous quality wedding dress for literally half the price! As with most wedding dress shops once a dress has been paid for and taken away I do not accept returns.
What size wedding dresses do you stock?
The sample dress sizes vary widely from designer to designer and are often smaller than high street sizes. They are all sourced from bridal shops and most of them come up between a high street size 8 and size 14 and are priced between £600 and £1300.
In all cases reasonable alterations can be made. If the dress has a corset style fastening at the back it will normally fit a size smaller and a size larger than the label size. We can discuss this on the phone or over email if you make an enquiry about any of the dresses. My seamstress Connie says that anything is possible!
What condition are the dresses in?
Most of Bristol Bridal Boutique’s wedding dresses are in great condition. As all the wedding dresses are samples from bridal shops and therefore may have been tried on a few times, they may have some minor imperfections eg. missing or loose beading, pulls in the fabric, etc. For more information about any of the dresses please CLICK HERE to get in touch.
Do I need an appointment to come and try the wedding dresses on?
Yes, please contact me via the contact form in the menu or email me at laura@bristolbridalboutique.co.uk
Can I bring friends and family with me to my appointment?
Of course, however I do ask that you bring no more than 3 guests as space in the studio is limited. Please also know coming on your own is absolutely fine and can often be really helpful for you to find the dress you love.
Can I wear make-up to my appointment?
No, please do not wear make-up or fake tan when coming to try on the wedding dresses so I can keep them in the best possible condition.
If I buy a sample wedding dress will it need cleaning?
I only dry-clean samples if they need it when they arrive with me. If you would like your gown dry-cleaned after purchase I can arrange this for a discounted price.
Do you do alterations?
I can recommend a very experienced, lovely seamstress called Connie who is based in Bath. If you know of a seamstress closer to where you live, you are welcome to use them.
How can I pay for my wedding dress?
I only accept bank transfer. Once the dress has been paid for it can be taken away in a breathable gown bag that I provide for you
Do you accept returns?
All gowns are sold as seen and I advise that you check the gown over fully before making your purchase. Any imperfections that I am aware of will be pointed out to you at your appointment. As a result I cannot accept returns and do not provide refunds.
